Rich and Understated

Lara Clahane at the Studio 6th to 18th October

I’ve admired Lara’s work for a long time and I’m sooo delighted she agreed to exhibit at my Studio!
Her fabulous porcelain ceramics are both functional and beautiful – which is my favourite combination. They are understated and delicate with a hint of quirky on the outside and rich and surprising on the inside!

Wow, what a treat!

20th September till 4th October

My next guest at the Studio is Julian Longcake with his amazing, fantastic and magical up-cycled 3D objects.
Old treasures, beach-combed  finds, myths and personal stories combine into a range of pieces of all shapes and sizes. The flavour is iconography – very apt for Christmas. (If you weren’t thinking of that already – you do now!)

Jewellery Exhibition 3rd – 25th July 2014

For various reasons I had not been able to spend as much time in the Studio as I had hoped.

So as not to disappoint those of you who have been finding a ‘closed’ sign on the door much longer I’ve been searching for collaborations with other artist.

My aim is to provide opportunities in what I hope will be a series of exhibitions and a wider range of art and craft work for you to choose from.

My first guest is Michelle Johnson, bringing her exquisite gold and silver jewellery to Kendal for the first time!

I hope you will come and support her and extend a friendly Kendal welcome.

At Studio launch

A big thank you to all those who came to celebrate with me the Studio launch. There was a good turn out and a laid back atmosphere at my cosy ‘little white box’.

Since then there had been a steady trickle of people, some familiar faces and some new. I have been amazed at the positive feedback and good wishes and the best compliment came from a twelve year old boy who said: this place is really cool!

My gratitude to you all.
